]]> Observed annually in Canada on April 28, the National Day of Mourning commemorates those who have lost their lives or suffered injury or illness on the job or due to workplace related hazards and occupational exposures.

The National Day of Mourning is not only a day to remember and honour those lives lost or injured due to a workplace tragedy, but also a day to collectively renew our commitment to improve health and safety in the workplace and prevent further injuries, illnesses and deaths.

Take a moment to honour those lost and reflect on how we can always stay safe at work and at home. We work safely for ourselves, coworkers, friends our families. Together, let’s renew our commitment to workplace health and safety.

How Are We Doing?

Safety is core to how we work. We strive for operational excellence and continuous improvement for the health and safety of our people and the protection and sustainability of the communities and environment where we work. In 2022, we delivered the best safety performance in Gibson’s history and achieved 5.8 million hours worked since our last lost time injury.

We all have the duty to report EH&S events. This helps everyone understand the causes and improve controls to prevent the recurrence of safety and environmental hazards and other incidents.

Together, we can meet our Mission Zero goal – zero harm to people, the environment and assets.

]]> As of 2022, our employee safety performance leads Canadian midstream oil & gas peers and places us solidly in the top quartile compared to our U.S. midstream peers.

Peagler Oil finished 2022 with two employee recordable injuries (equates to an estimated TRIF of ~ 0.46), one contractor recordable injury and zero lost time injuries for the year. Thankfully, the three recordable injuries that occurred in 2022 were all low in severity, meaning they were closer to first aids than lost time injuries. With this result, Peagler has once again met our ESG safety goal of being a top quartile safety performer in our sector for the second consecutive year.
